Community Leaders

Rosemary Bayer_box.png

I’m delighted to endorse Barb Anness (MI HD-45) for State Representative for Greater Rochester’s #45th District. Barb is a tireless and fierce advocate for Greater Rochester. She has spent close to two decades working on behalf of families -- as an appointed and re-elected Trustee of Rochester Community Schools, and as an education advocate on the local, and state level. Barb brings her message of public-school education equality to our nation’s Capitol every year, as a Michigan Statewide PTA Council Legislative Chair, where she directly advocates our Congressional representatives on behalf of all schoolchildren in Michigan.

Barb Anness is a businesswoman, a mother of two, a wife and a homeowner, and a twenty-three-year Rochester Hills resident by choice. She is a passionate champion for the environment, a gun safety advocate, and stands with those that seek equality and equal rights. I know she will be a valued and compassionate legislator for Michigan and I look forward to working with her in Lansing!

Please join me in supporting Barb Anness for State Legislator for District #45 (Greater Rochester).

Rosemary Bayer

Barb Anness will be an excellent representative in the Michigan legislature for our area. She is an accomplished and tested leader whose values, skills and courage are the qualities badly needed in Lansing at this unprecedented moment.

It is with great pride that I endorse Barb Anness for our next state representative. Barb has served our community with integrity and commitment for seventeen years, as an advocate for families at the local, state, and national level, and currently as Trustee for the Rochester Community Schools Board of Education. She has put the people of Greater Rochester first, working tirelessly to advance the best interests of kids, families, and all Greater Rochester. Our state needs the trusted, proven, and compassionate leadership of Barb Anness for State Representative.

As a fellow School Board Trustee in Oakland County I have had the opportunity to work with Barb on many initiatives. She is thoughtful, passionate and has been a tireless advocate for the Rochester/Rochester Hills Community. The people of the 45th District will be well served by her leadership.

I am enthusiastically endorsing Barb Anness to be our next State Representative for district #45. Barb has been a tireless leader in our community for many years. As a PTA legislative liaison, she has spend countless days in Lansing meeting with our elected officials on behalf of ALL of our local students.

Then Barb took her passion to the next level by being unanimously nominated to be a replacement member on our local school board.
She won her reelection handily.

Barb's advocacy skills will be a great asset to our community when she is in Lansing. Please make your calendar to vote for her in the primary on August 4th — and then again in November. You will be glad you did!

I am enthusiastically supporting Barbara Anness in her run to be the next State Rep. for the MI House 45th district. As the former Executive Director of Rochester Area Neighborhood House, I was fortunate to have Barb volunteer and provided pro-bono design work. Barb’s work ethic, sensitivity to our community needs, and overall skill set was extremely helpful in developing a recognizable public image for our nonprofit human service agency.

Former Executive Director of Rochester Area Neighborhood House

As an independent voter, and a Rochester Hills resident that has invested
in the community, and as a former Rochester Hills City Council member
and OPC Treasurer and Commissioner, I proudly endorse Barb Anness to represent the greater Rochester Area, 45th District, in the State Legislature.

We need a leader who will make rebuilding Michigan a top priority and bring
it into the 21st century. We need a leader that acts now and not someone who will collect a paycheck and promise results later. We need a leader who puts people first and will make Michigan competitive again.

Barb is a compassionate leader with integrity and experience. As a small business owner and a Trustee of Rochester Community Schools, she understands the importance of investing in ourfuture to ensure that the economic engine grows and uplifts the quality of life for every Michigander.

I ask all my fellow residents in the Greater Rochester Area to please join me and support Barb’s campaign. Let’s help Barb Anness get elected to the Michigan House and be our next State Representative in 2020!

Linda Gallaher

As a resident of Rochester for 40 years, and a small business owner for 15 years, I am proud to endorse Barb Anness for State Representative for Michigan’s 45th District.

It is imperative that we not only vote, but vote our values. We elect State Representatives to create and vote on bills that make new laws or modify existing ones, a highly important role in our State government; and a role in which we trust that our elected Representative’s judgment, integrity, and principle will serve to embrace the concerns and interests of her constituents.

Not only does Barb bring life experience, commitment and leadership to this appointment, but a wealth of knowledge, understanding, and awareness as well. Barb’s experience as Trustee for the Rochester Board of Education, her many Statewide PTA positions, and several other community service enlistments, highlight her longstanding history of public service to our community. Please join me in support of Barb Anness for State Representative for Michigan’s 45th District.

Having lobbied in both Lansing and Washington, DC on educational issues, Barb has a true understanding of what is best for all students, teachers, other staff and administrators. Barb will bring a fresh voice and perspective to Lansing and will work across the aisle for the benefit of all in the education community.

Barb brings experience and wisdom to the table. Her leadership skills are well proven.
Marianne Maurer

I believe Barb has the unique quality to listen to both sides of an issue and do what is fair for all. Barb has the ability and courage to leave her comfort zone if she knows it will keep a promise made or serve the common good.

Barb Pacella

I've know Barb for over 10 years; she is intelligent, hard working and most importantly she has developed necessary skills for governing through her work on our school board.

James Parker

I’ve known Barb since she and Tim moved into our neighborhood over twenty years ago. She has worked hard to ensure that the children in our community get the best possible education during her tenure as a trustee on the RCS Board of Education. If elected to the State House, she will bring the same level of conviction and hard work to her advocacy for all people in our district. Plus she’s a genuinely nice person who listens. We need her in Lansing as much as we’ve needed her here at home, to represent everyone’s voice. There are a lot of moving parts to legislation, and I’m confident that Barb is up to the task.

Mary Purdom Dykstra

Barb has experience to support needed actions to move Michigan forward. She will work for everyone.
